ASHRAE Changes- Breakfast Program
09-05-2012
Event Location: The Harford Club 46 Prospect St. Hartford, CT
Standards and Requirements
ASHRAE 90.1 is a standard that provides
minimum requirements for energy efficient
designs for buildings except for low-rise
residential buildings. The original standard
ASHRAE 90 was published in 1975 and had
multiple editions to it in years after. In 1999,
the Board of Directors for ASHRAE voted and
placed the standard on continuous maintenance,
which allowed it to be update multiple
times in a year. This is because of the rapid
change in technology and energy prices.
There are many states that apply the
ASHRAE 90.1 standard to different buildings
that are being constructed or under renovation.
Most states apply the standard or
equivalent standards for all commercial buildings
while others apply the standard or
equivalent standards for all government buildings.
Join your BOMA colleagues to hear
about the new standards and the
‘ c ontinuous maintenance ’ that is allowed.
